Sunday School Classes for Youth 2010-2011 All classes meet from 9:30-10:20 a.m. Our youth classes focus on building community, a healthy sense of self and relationship, developing good decision-making, and provide a foundation in Scripture and church tradition that will help teens articulate their faith and embrace their ministry as adult members of the Body of Christ. We use the Journey to Adulthood curriculum for Rite-13 and J2A, and Sealed and Sent Forth for Confirmation. Youth programs are comprehensive faith-formation courses with liturgies, pilgrimages and activities beyond Sunday morning. Rite-13 (7th and 8th) Rite-13 meets in St. Anselm Room at Alfriend House. Mentors are Martha Gentry and Barb Schweiger. J2A (9th and 10th) J2A meets in St. Brigit Room at Alfriend House. Mentors are Brian Coyle and Carol Gurioli.  Confirmation Class (11th and up)The Confirmation Class meets in St. Dominic Room at Alfriend House. Confirmation is tentatively scheduled for December 2011. This class just returned from their pilgrimage to Ireland and will be reflecting on the questions: what does it mean to be a Christian in today's world and particularly a member of the Episcopal Church. Mentors are George Butler, Jane Kiefer and Dan Ries. Our Confirmation class on their Ireland pilgrimage June 2010 Visitors are ALWAYS welcome!  |
